The first time I remember this song commercially was from the soundtrack of 'Premature Burial' where the gravedigger whistled the tune (the only movie that ever scared this tough kid). My cousin and I had a long walk home in the dark after seeing the movie and we whistled (whistle in the dark if you are scared) all the way home. I used to sing C&M starting in 4th grade music class back in the 1950s. A great melodic song done flawlessly on the harp. Thanks.
